The First Ever All- Electric Chevrolet Blazer
On July 18th, Chevrolet announced the first ever all- electric Chevrolet Blazer. Chevrolet is slowly revealing their lineup of electric vehicles that will be coming out over the next few years. Chevrolet already has the Bolt and the Bolt EUV. They then brought out the electric Silverado, Equinox, and now the Blazer. For the longest time, the problem with electric vehicles was that they were not good looking vehicles. For some reason, all manufacturers made the electric cars look very odd. Most electric cars that were coming out were not very pleasing to the eye. The only electric car that looked good to most people, was the Tesla. Tesla was leaps and bounds ahead of every other vehicle manufacturer in terms of design of electric vehicles.
Now, in 2022, we are finally seeing electric vehicles that look like regular vehicles. Chevrolet has released images of the electric Silverado, equinox, and Blazer. The Silverado doesn’t look like a regular Silverado but it does look like a futuristic version of the Silverado. If you have seen pictures of the electric Hummer, it is very similar to that. But the Equinox and Blazer look very similar to the current gas powered versions of those vehicles.

Those are some pretty exceptional stats for the all electric Blazer! The outside of the Blazer EV will look a little bit different to the gas powered version. It will be slightly larger and have a completely redesigned interior that will feature a 17.7 inch infotainment screen. Chevrolet recently released the pricing for the highly anticipated Corvette Z06. People have been wondering when Chevrolet was going to release the pricing and it finally happened last Friday! The hype around the Corvette Z06 is like something we have not seen before. The Z06 is always around $20,000 or so more than a standard Corvette. The starting price for a 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is $106, 395. A 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray will start at $64,200. So that is about $40,000 more for the Z06, but you are getting a completely different vehicle.
The Corvette Z06 has a completely different engine. The Stingray has the 6.2L naturally aspirated V8 engine. Whereas the Z06, while still naturally aspirated, has a 5.5L flat- plane crank engine. That’s the part that gets most people excited. The flat- plane crank will make the engine sound more like an exotic car from Europe. The 5.5L engine in the Z06 has 670 horsepower compared to the 495 that the Stingray has. This is the most powerful naturally aspirated engine General Motors has ever produced. It is going to be a special engine.
The Z06 comes in two body styles and three trim levels. You have the option to get it in the coupe or convertible body style. The convertible is usually about $7,000 more than the coupe. So if you are looking at the convertible option, keep that in mind!
Trim Levels:
- 1LZ- Starting price of $106,395
- 2LZ- Starting price of $115,595
- 3LZ- Starting price of $120,245
If you are wanting a convertible, just add $7,000 to the above prices. A fully loaded Z06 could cost you around $160,000 or so but for the amount of car you are going to get compared to something from overseas, it is a steal. If you are wanting a Porsche that can deliver that kind of performance, you are going to be paying at least $200,000. The Ferrari F8 costs $270,000. That is over $100,000 more than the Corvette Z06. The F8 has 701 horsepower compared to the 670 in the Corvette Z06. Would you be willing to trade that 31 horsepower for the $110,000?
The 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 will be the most sought after Corvette that has been made in a long time and the value of them will only continue to rise with the recent regulations on engines. With everything going electric, gas powered engines will become more rare. V8 powered vehicles could see a large uptick in cost over the next 5 or 10 years.
Chevrolet Announces Electric Corvette
The C8 Chevrolet Corvette has been way more a success than anyone could have ever imagined. Corvettes are being sold for 20 and 30 thousand over their MSRP. It is unbelievable. Here at Poage Chevrolet, we will never sell a Corvette for over MSRP. But back to the Corvette news.
This week Chevrolet announced that they are going to be releasing a hybrid version of the C8 Corvette. Mark Reuss said that it will be coming out sometime in 2023. If it is going to be coming out in 2023, that means they already have some produced and are just trying to figure out the kinks. We believe the only reason a hybrid/ electric version of the Corvette is even coming out is because of the new regulations that have to do with a vehicles gas mileage. The new regulations say that every new vehicle produced must get a certain amount of MPG to be within those regulations. Clearly the engine that is in the C8 Corvette would not comply with those regulations so they have to make an electric/ hybrid. Curious if eventually they go to a completely electric Corvette.
It will be very interesting to see what the reception is like for the Electric Corvette. There will probably be some people who really like it and some who are on the opposite end of the spectrum.
2022: The End of the Chevrolet Trax
Chevrolet just announced that after 2022, they will no longer be producing the Chevrolet Trax. During the lifetime of the Trax, which has not been that long, it has gotten some very mixed reviews. If you remember back when the Trax first came out, it took the place of the Cruze. Most people were very confused when Chevrolet discontinued the Cruze for the Trax. But at the time, all of the American vehicle manufacturers made the decision to move away from cars and transition to all SUVs and trucks. SUVs were, and still are, the most popular style of vehicle. The Trax was the least expensive SUV that Chevrolet offered. During the same press release, General Motors also announced that Buick will no longer me making the Encore. The Encore was pretty much the same vehicle as the Trax but under the Buick brand. It will be interesting to see what will come out in the place of the Trax, or if anything will. General Motors has been making a lot of changes recently with all of the Electric vehicles that they are going to be introducing over the next 15 years or so. Maybe the Trax was not in the plans to go electric. The real issue that is going to come from this is the fact that there will no longer be an affordable SUV option at Chevrolet and Buick. The next least expensive SUV that Chevrolet offers is the Equinox, which we know is not going anywhere anytime soon. The Equinox if one of the best selling vehicles that Chevrolet offers. They have already announced and showed the electric version of the Equinox that will be coming out in 2023 sometime. It will be very interesting what, if any other vehicles will get discontinued to make the way for more electric vehicles. We will keep you posted when we find out more information.
2024: All Electric Chevrolet Equinox
Chevrolet will expand its EV lineup in fall 2023 to include the Equinox EV, an affordable, functional compact SUV that will start at an estimated MSRP of around $30,0001 in the U.S. The Equinox EV, which will be launched with both fleet and retail versions, including LT and RS trims, will leverage GM’s Ultium Platform.
“The Equinox has always played an important role for Chevrolet as the second-highest selling brand nameplate,” said Steve Hill, Chevrolet vice president. “Providing an affordable EV option in the industry’s highest volume segment proves Chevy is going to make EVs available to everyone.”
The announcement of the Equinox EV comes on the heels of Chevy’s reveal of the 2024 Silverado EV and confirmation of the Blazer EV SUV, which will be available in spring 2023.
2023 Chevrolet Blazer Refresh Reveal Tomorrow
Tomorrow, February 8, 2022, Chevrolet is going to be revealing the refreshed Chevrolet Blazer. The Blazer has become one of the core products in the Chevy lineup now. The Blazer is the most sporty SUV that Chevrolet offers. The sales have surpassed anything that General Motors had in mind when they brought the Blazer back in 2019. Now that we are going on the fourth year of the Blazer, Chevrolet decided it is time for a little refresh, if you will. This refresh is said to be going into production in the latter half of 2022. But the refreshed Blazer will be in the 2023 model year.
The main change that is coming to the Blazer refresh is the fact that Chevrolet is dropping the L and 1LT trim levels. The Blazer going forward will only be available in the LT, RS, and Premier trim levels. There has been some chatter about the possibility of a Blazer ACTIV being introduced. The Trailblazer also has the ACTIV trim level and people seem to love it. So the logical solution is to add the ACTIV to the Blazer lineup.
There are also going to be some changes to the outside and inside of the Blazer. The exterior is getting minor updates. The front fascia is getting a little bit of an update. It is said to look similar to the Bolt front end. That could potentially be a downfall considering what the Bolt looks like. The interior is going to get some very much needed upgrades. They are adding a larger screen and using higher quality materials throughout the interior.

On Saturday night at the Barrett Jackson auction in Scottsdale Arizona, the first 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 was auctioned off. It went for a whopping $3.6 million. Back in 2020, when the C8 Corvette was released, Chevrolet did the same thing. They auctioned the first C8 Corvette and it went for $3 million. Everyone knew that the Z06 was going to sell for for than the C8 Stingray but were not sure as to how much more it was going to sell for. All of the proceeds from the sale of the Corvette went to Operation Homefront, a foundation that is focused on building strong, stable and focused military families.
Believe it or not, the same person who bought the first 2020 Chevrolet Corvette also bought the first 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06. The person who bought both of these vehicles is Rick Hendricks. The owner and CEO of Hendricks Companies. This specific Corvette Z06 was fitted with the recently announced 70th Anniversary Package, making it even more special. Electric Silverado Revealed
On January 5th, General Motors revealed the 2024 Electric Chevrolet Silverado. This has been a long awaited release. Ford came out with the Ford F-150 Lightning so General Motors knew they would have to respond. And they responded. The electric Silverado will not be coming out for a while but reservations are available right now. If you would like to reserve yours now, click this link to do so.
The Electric Silverado will start with only two trim levels. Work Truck and RST. The Work Truck is what the name states. This is lesser optioned truck that would mainly be used for work purposes. The RST is a little different. The RST is the most luxurious model that they will sell for the time being at least.
The specs on these trucks are actually astonishing. The RST model is going to have an estimated 400 mile range. 400 miles compares to most gas vehicles that are on the market right now. The only down side to having an electric vehicle is having to stop for periods of time to charge your batteries. Now in terms of power the RST will have 660 horsepower. The regular Silverados do not even have close to that amount. Where the electric engine will come in handy will be towing. To tow heavy amounts of weight, you need to a have a sizable amount of torque. The more torque, the more you can tow. The RST model is going to have 780 lb-ft of torque. That is a lot of torque of you ask me.
From the outside, it looks like the bed of the truck is actually short. And technically it is shorter that a standard bed that would come on a regular Silverado. But with the way the electric Silverado is setup, you have the capability to fit items up to 10 feet long. The way you are able to do this is the rear seats fold down to create an extra few feet of space. Also if you have your truck optioned with the multi-flex tailgate, you can add even more space. if you have the tailgate down and folded correctly along with the rear seats being folded forward, you will be able to fit items up to 10 feet long. And if you need just a little but more storage, there is a frunk. Where the engine normally would be, there is now a compartment for extra storage. Most people refer to this area as a frunk, a trunk in the front.

2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Revealed
On Tuesday 10/26/2021 Chevrolet finally revealed the 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06. The Corvette Z06 has been a long awaited vehicle. People have been waiting for Chevrolet to fully reveal the Z06 version of the C8 Corvette from the day Chevrolet introduced the all new C8 Corvette. Chevrolet played a very well made video that went into detail about how the Z06 came about and how it has come all the way to where it is today. From the day Z06 was introduced, it has always been the most track ready Corvette you could buy straight from the factory and that has not changed with this new version of the Z06 Corvette. Chevrolet’s goal with with 2023 Corvette Z06 was to ” Put the World on Notice.” They want to let the rest of the world know what American cars can do. For the longest time, most people outside of the United States just thought that American cars were only good to go in a straight line. Which, to be fair, was not all that wrong. Chevrolet is going directly after all European supercar makers with the 2023 Corvette Z06. When Chevrolet came out with the C8 Stingray with the mid- engine, everyone was just thinking about all of the possibilities that could come with future models of the Corvette. The C8 Corvette Stingray has been a huge success so far and continues to be the most sought after car on the market currently. The fact that most dealers in the United States are selling these Corvettes for over MSRP. when a vehicle is selling at over MSRP, you know it is a hot vehicle.
The 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 will completely change the game in terms of American “supercars.” Up to this point, there really aren’t many American supercars. The Ford GT, the Corvette ZR1, and maybe the Ford Mustang GT500. It really depends on who you are talking to thought. But without a doubt, the 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is a supercar. The numbers that Chevrolet have stated, the car is clearly a supercar. The main difference between the C8 Stingray and the Z06 is the engine and the power that it creates. The Corvette Stingray has a 6.2L naturally aspirated V8 pumping out 495 horsepower. While the Z06 has a completely different engine in it. It has a 5.5L flat- plane crank engine that puts out 670 horsepower. The engine in the Z06 is the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 in a production car ever. Chevrolet really wanted to go after Ferrari specifically. There are a lot of similarities between the Ferrari 458 and the Corvette Z06. The flat- plank crankshaft is what give the higher pitch sound that most European supercars have. Corvettes are known for having a deep throaty tone but the Z06 screams like a Ferrari and it sounds incredible. The new engine also revs to an astonishing 8600 rpm. That is exactly 2000 rom higher than the C8 Stingray.
The 2023 Corvette Z06 also has some pretty impressive stats too. The Corvette Z06 is said to have a 0-60 time of 2.6 seconds. But there is an optional package called the Z07 package that you can have added and it can do 0-60 in 2.6 seconds. When you eclipse the sub 3 second mark in terms of 0-60, that’s when you know you are in supercar territory. The numbers that Chevrolet is presenting are very impressive. The one big upside that the Corvette is going to have over all of the European supercars is the price. Most Europeans supercars are going to be double if not triple the price of the Corvette Z06. The C8 Stingray is hard enough to get a hold of, can you image how hard it is going to be to get your hands on a Z06.

As you can expect, with each trim level, more features and options are included in the package. We currently do not know anything about pricing of the Corvette Z06 but you can expect the regular price increase from the Stingray to the Z06. Do not be surprised if we see some $150,000 builds. The most expensive Stingray was right around $105,000-$110,000. So when you add in the new engine and all of the extra power and features that come with the Z06 you can expect some expensive Corvettes. But if you look at it compared to European supercars, it looks like a great deal. You will not be able to find another car that gives this level of performance for that price point.
