This past week, Chevrolet released a teaser of what the 2023 Corvette Z06 is going to sound like. It definitely does not sound like a regular Corvette, that’s for sure. The new 2023 Corvette Z06 is going to have a flat- plane crankshaft in it. That will give it that Ferrari sound to it. Chevrolet really went for it with the C8 Corvette from a looks standpoint and now they are doubling down and going after those Italian brands. The Corvette looks like and performs like a European supercar but for less than half the price. If you are looking at a Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren or any other supercar, they are going to cost you way more money than a Chevrolet Corvette.
The starting price for a Corvette Stingray is right around $60,000. Most people customize them to how they want them so it will be more than that but still. Great value for what you are getting. The Z06 usually has around 200 or so more horsepower than the base model Corvette. For example, the C7 Corvette Stingray came with 460 horsepower. The Z06 model had 650 horsepower. The main difference was that there was a supercharger on the Z06 to get the extra power.
The 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is said to be a naturally aspirated v8 with a Flat- Plane crankshaft which will produce that higher pitch engine noise that is common in Italian supercars. If you are interested in ordering a Z06, please come into Poage Chevrolet and request to be put on our list. The list is going to fill up fast. If you wait too long, you may have a longer wait until you are able to order your Corvette.
2022 Colorado gets Trailboss Package
Just announced!
The 2022 Chevrolet Colorado will be available with the Trailboss package. It will have some components of the Colorado ZR2 but will not be quite as off- road capable. This upgrade to the Colorado is more of an upgrade to the LT and Z71 trim levels. You will be getting the lift, wheels and tires, along with some other exterior enhancements. Some of the main differences in the ZR2 Colorado and the Colorado Trailboss are that you will not be getting the DSSV shocks or the locking front differential that comes on the Colorado ZR2.
There will be some similarities in the two Colorados though. You will notice that the wheels from the Colorado ZR2 will be put on the Colorado Trailboss, but will be painted black. Some other features the Colorado Trailboss will have is a front and mid- mounted skid plate along with blacked out emblems around the outside of the truck. Pricing information on this vehicle has not been released yet, but when it does, we will be sure to pass it along.

Chevrolet Silverado ZR2 Confirmed!
Last week, Chevrolet finally confirmed the Silverado ZR2 model will actually be happening. Chevy owners have been begging for a version of the Silverado like this. In the teaser video that Chevrolet released, the Silverado ZR2 had a very aggressive sound to it. It would be great if this version of the Silverado came with a performance engine. If the Silverado ZR2 is able to keep up with the Ford Raptor and Ram TRX, that would be amazing. Ever since the Ram TRX came out, the are selling like hotcakes. They are so popular that they are selling for 20- 30K over sticker. Chevrolet needs to make this a similar model in order to stay relevant in this market. They made leaps and bounds when they introduced the Silverado TrailBoss. The TrailBoss is one of the most popular trim level of the Silverado now. We are hoping that the ZR2 will be a better version of the TrailBoss. Chevrolet is set to be unveiling the Silverado ZR2 sometime towards the end of 2021.
The 2022 Chevrolet Silverado is set to get a little bit of a facelift this year. Some people were not all that satisfied with the Silverado redesign of 2019. Rumor is that the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado will look a little more the Tahoe and Suburban. Two models that have been recently redesigned and has been welcomed by the customers. Tahoes and Suburbans have been flying off the lot so Chevrolet is hoping this refresh will make people like the Silverado more. The inside of the Chevrolet Silverado is also getting some much needed upgrades. The inside of the Silverado has been very disappointing pretty much all around. Everything used in the now Silverado is very cheap plastic and it just isn’t all that good looking. The 2022 Chevrolet Silverado is going to be having soft touch materials all over the cabin with some very needed technology updates as well. A new infotainment screen is one of the bigger updates that will be coming to the new Silverado. It is also said to be having a digital dash in some trim levels. Most likely the higher trim levels will come with that.
If you are in the market for a New or Used Chevrolet Silverado, we have a great selection to choose from.

Production for the 2022 Chevrolet Equinox is set to kick off on June 14th, 2021. The 2021 Chevrolet Equinox was supposed to be getting a refresh but due to the pandemic, they had to hold off until 2022. The Equinox is one of the most popular vehicles that Chevrolet offers. Customers are going to be waiting for when the 2022 Equinoxes come off the transport truck.
The main difference with the 2022 Equinox and the 2021 Equinox is that the 2022 Equinox will be available with a RS trim level. This trim level will be below the Premier and right about the LT. The RS package is know for being the “Sporty” trim level the Chevrolet offers. There will also be some updates to the front fascia of the Equinox. A new grille, headlights, and fog lamps are some of the features that are getting updated. The Equinox comes standard with the turbocharged 1.5L 4 cylinder engine. In previous years, a 2.0L turbocharged 4 cylinder engine was offered but that is no longer an option.

ALL ELECTRIC SILVERADO- COMING SOON
The president of General Motors, Mark Reuss, announced the last week that Chevrolet will introduce an electric Silverado sometime soon. This electric Silverado is going to be built at the ZERO assembly plants in Detroit and Hamtramck, Michigan. This all new Silverado has been completely rebuilt to be an EV vehicle. General Motors is making some big claims about this Silverado already. This electric Silverado is said to have an estimated 400 mile range. That is quite a long range. The bolt doesn’t even have that long of a range. If Chevrolet succeeds with an EV Silverado, that will inspire a lot of confidence with consumers with future EV models that will come out. The Silverado is Chevrolet’s best selling vehicle so if they can make a good electric version, people should have a lot of confidence when Chevrolet begins to make other EV models. We would think that an electric version of the Equinox and Blazer would be close behind. The Equinox sells incredibly well now. Hopefully they will make a good electric version.
Hopefully we will be getting more information about all of the electric vehicles that General Motors has in the works. As soon as we get more information, we will pass it on to our customers. Electric vehicles will just be a part of everyday life here in the near future whether we like it or not.
Diesel-Fuel-Additives-2
FUEL COLD FLOW ADDITIVE
3. Cold Flow Additive- Diesel Cold Flow Additive functions as a wax modifier to improve the low temperature operability of diesel by lowering the Cold Filter Plugging Point (CFPP)
The CFPP is the temperature at which the wax formation in the fuel in cold temperatures will start to plug the fuel filters leading to operational issues
Lower Pour Point to prevent fuel gelling in cold temperatures
Inhibits fuel filter icing: Prevents fuel filter plugging in cold weather

HOW TO PROPERLY MAINTAIN DIESEL ENGINES IN THE COLD?
Over the past week or so, we have been experiencing some extremely cold temperatures. We have a few recommendations for our diesel owners that might come in handy the next time it gets really cold. Our parts department offers a few different products that will keep your diesel engine running correctly in the extreme cold. When the temperature gets colder and colder, diesel fuel will begin to change. The normal consistency of diesel fuel is a liquid like regular pump gas. But when it gets really cold out, the diesel fuel will begin to gel up. It becomes thick and will clog up the fuel filter. When that filter becomes clogged, the vehicle will not be able to start. Here are a few things that you can add to your diesel fuel to help this from happening.

TIPS AND TRICKS FOR DRIVING IN SNOW
A lot of people get very nervous and worried when having to drive in the snow or even rain for that matter. We have a lot of experience driving in these situations and decided to share our insights with everyone. Odds are you have seen someone driving down the road at a high rate of speed. You are thinking to yourself, ” they are going to end up crashing driving like that.” You very well be right, but you do not want to follow in their footsteps. It is better to be safe than sorry. Wouldn’t you rather be a few minutes late than to get in an accident? Most people would choose the few minutes late route. Below we will be outlining the steps to take when driving in winter weather.
1. Drive smooth
When you are driving in the snow, you do not want to be jerking the steering wheel all over the place. The more you move the wheel the better the chance of something bad happening. If you move the wheel very frantically, your vehicle will get our of control. You will start swerving back and forth and end up crashing. Smooth motions when turning and if you need to move quickly, be careful and try not to jerk the wheel. This same concept applies to accelerating and braking. When starting off, you want to ease on the gas pedal. If you just stomp on the gas pedal you will just spin your tires, while going nowhere. Your goal is to not make your tires spin. When braking, lightly apply pressure to the pedal. If you hit the pedal too hard, your brakes will lock up. When the brakes lock up, you will begin to slide and have no control of the car. That is usually how accidents happen in the snow or rain. Driver not paying attention to the road, they look up at the last second, slam on their brakes and they lock up, then sliding into the other car.
2. Look Far Down the Road
Being aware of what is in the road ahead is vital to staying safe on the roads during a winter storm. If you are only looking right in front of you, you will not be prepared for what is coming up. The worse the conditions are, the farther out you should be looking. If you are looking ahead, you will be ready for whatever comes up. In the snow, you have to slow down when going around turns. If you don’t you will end of crashing into something. The rule is that when it is raining, you should allow double the stopping distance, triple for snow, and even more for when there is ice on the roads.
3. Watch your dashboard
Keep an eye on your dashboard. There are lights that will pop up when something is going wrong. A light will pop up on the dash board if you begin to lose traction. It will look like a car with tire tracks. If this light is on, you do not currently have total control of the car. This feature is there to let you know something isn’t right and you need to correct it to get back to full traction. If you begin to lose traction, your first reaction should NOT be to slam on the brakes. That is most people’s first reaction. Start sliding and slam on the brakes. That’s the exact opposite of what you should do.
4. Look where you want to go
If you start to slide or skid, look to where you want to go. Most people look to where they are headed. You need to be looking where you want to go. It’s like the saying, ” Keep your eyes on the prize.” The prize in this situation is being in the correct place on the road. This is what you are taught when you are learning to be a race car driver. They have to know how to correct anything that happens during the race.
5. Get winter tires
This could be the most important thing on this list. Winter tires are exactly what they sound like. They are tires that are meant for the winter. Most people buy all season tires which are good too. You just want to make sure that you do not have summer tires on your vehicle. Summer tires do not have near as much tread as a winter tire. You will have significantly more traction with winter or all season tires than you will with summer tires. If you need to find the right tire for you, click this link to use our Tire Finder. You will be able to search by make and model to find the exact tire your vehicle needs. All brand are available within our Tire Finder.
