The president of General Motors, Mark Reuss, announced the last week that Chevrolet will introduce an electric Silverado sometime soon. This electric Silverado is going to be built at the ZERO assembly plants in Detroit and Hamtramck, Michigan. This all new Silverado has been completely rebuilt to be an EV vehicle. General Motors is making some big claims about this Silverado already. This electric Silverado is said to have an estimated 400 mile range. That is quite a long range. The bolt doesn’t even have that long of a range. If Chevrolet succeeds with an EV Silverado, that will inspire a lot of confidence with consumers with future EV models that will come out. The Silverado is Chevrolet’s best selling vehicle so if they can make a good electric version, people should have a lot of confidence when Chevrolet begins to make other EV models. We would think that an electric version of the Equinox and Blazer would be close behind. The Equinox sells incredibly well now. Hopefully they will make a good electric version.
Hopefully we will be getting more information about all of the electric vehicles that General Motors has in the works. As soon as we get more information, we will pass it on to our customers. Electric vehicles will just be a part of everyday life here in the near future whether we like it or not.
